Palm Sunday
Today Palm Sunday, according to many church calendars.
It is the last Sunday before the Passion of Jesus. It is the week to honor our LORD Jesus
as Christ the our King. Here are some verses speaking of who He is as our
King... yours and mine.
Today's readings of Christ the King are: Matthew 21:5, Zechariah 9:9,

'Behold, your King is coming to you,
Lowly, and sitting on a donkey...'" Matt. 21:5 NKJ
When Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday He rode on a foal of a donkey. The crowds were cheering and waving palm branches. Many of them were wondering if this was the coming of God's chosen one. On that day, He fulfilled this prophecy of the coming Messiah:
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Behold, Your King is coming to you;
He is just and having salvation,
Lowly and riding on a donkey..."
Zechariah 9:9 NKJ
This is the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem!!!
It was such a time of great rejoicing! God's chosen one finally came in
to the city of David, the city of the Great king. Look at Him in your
heart, through the eyes of these people, imagine their joy. He was righteous, and just. In
their eyes He was coming to make things right and end the injustice they
lived every day under with the occupation of the Roman Empire. But that
is not how it was to be. God's chosen One did not come high and mighty on a majestic
horse, but He came in humility on a donkey, lowly and
approachable to us. Let His words speak to your heart:
Are you weary and burdened? Come to Him. Come to His gentle and lowly heart. Rest your heart in His. You will find rest for your soul.
