The Prince of Peace is Born

Today's Reading: Luke 2:11, Isaiah 9:6,7

"For there is born to you this day...
a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Glory to God in the Highest
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men."

Luke 2:11

"For unto us a child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be
upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called Wonderful,
Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and
peace there will be no end.

Upon the throne of David and
over His kingdom, to order it
and establish it
with judgment and justice.
From that time forward, even forever."

Isaiah 9:6,7

In this world for the last 2,000 years since the coming of the Prince of Peace; there has been times of peace and times of war and strife. Right now in 2020, there is no peace on earth, especially in America right now. The division is the strongest I have ever seen it. So when I look at the verse above: "Peace on Earth, goodwill toward men." I think, how can this be? Christ, the Prince of Peace has come. Why is there so much strife in our country and our world? An old familiar Christmas carol keeps coming to mind. Here is one of the many poignant verses:

"I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
and wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"

This is the theme for this week. The Prince of Peace is Born. How does this apply in the day and age we live in? Stay tuned and more will come.

The government shall be upon HIS shoulder. Of the increase of HIS government there will be NO end! A government ordered and established with justice and peace! Now that's MIGHTY GOOD NEWS in light of the government we're currently experiencing. It's so good to be assured that those who reject HIM and serve themselves and their godless agendas now, will one day have to bow their knee and confess with their mouths that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.

MIGHTY GOOD NEWS INDEED!I look so forward to Him ruling His Kingdom with judgment and justice. It is only then, that the promise of peace and goodwill toward men will be fully realized. Peace can only be reality where there is no evil.

Praise You, our Prince of Peace. May your Kingdom Come Quickly.

Satan is presently the prince of this world; evil reigns more and more, however, in the end, it is Jesus who WINS! God will have the last word on what's presently happening. Satan and evil will be forever destroyed and JESUS, THE KING OF KINGS, THE LORD OF LORDS, THE PRINCE OF PEACE WILL REIGN FOREVER AND EVER!!!

Just like in the Revelation story, God's holiness will crush all evil and we shall live in God's glory forever! HalleluYah!

What this means to me is HOPE. True hope. We live in a fallen world and the govt we live with now is corrupt and anti God in so many ways.
It's so deep and so exciting to KNOW that God loves us as deep and wide as He does.
He is our Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace and He loves us! He has saved us!

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

What strikes me from this passage is the angel's greeting to the shepherds proclaiming the birth of the promised Messiah also acknowledges there has been war / enmity with God. But with the birth of the Messiah, the Lamb to be slain for the sins of the world, God's justice has been appeased and He himself is now declaring peace to men of goodwill -- on whom His favor rests.

An Old Testament of man's enmity with God... In the days of Noah, there was such wickedness that God destroyed the entire world with a flood -- saving only righteous Noah and his family. When the flood waters subsided, Noah disembarked from the ark, built an altar and offered sacrifices in thanksgiving for saving them. In response, God set his bow (a weapon) in the heavens. A rainbow promising never again to destroy the entire earth by flood. (Genesis 9:13-17)

Jesus is truly our Prince of Peace, offering Himself to restore our relationship with the Father.

As you ladies have already commented, our current society is so anti-God, and government has becoming increasingly evil. It is truly heartbreaking that mankind as a whole has been so ungrateful for the most priceless gift of all -- peace with God, for the opportunity for eternal life with our good and loving Creator.

Those who honor and celebrate Jesus' birth, who wholeheartedly receive the gift of Himself, bring much joy to the heart of God.
