Christ the King!!!
As an evangelical Christian I had no idea that there was a day set aside by the Liturgical Churches to honor Christ as King; until my pastor brought it up one Sunday. Wow! That was the beginning of these posts. You will find these blog post links on this page every year. I pray you are inspired and more in love with Jesus than ever before. This year November 26, 2017 is Christ the King day, according to many church calendars. It is the last Sunday before Advent (Coming of Christ) starts to bring in the Christmas season. All of this week it is my hope to honor Jesus as Christ the King by posting verses speaking of who He is as our King... yours and mine.

Behold Your King!
Today's readings are: Matthew 21:5, Zechariah 9:9,
"Tell the daughter of Zion,
'Behold, your King is coming to you,
Lowly, and sitting on a donkey...'"
Matt. 21:5 NKJ
'Behold, your King is coming to you,
Lowly, and sitting on a donkey...'"
Matt. 21:5 NKJ
When Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday He rode on a little foal of a donkey. The crowds were cheering and waving palm branches. Many of them were wondering if this was the coming of God's chosen one. On that day, He fulfilled this prophecy of the coming Messiah: Read More

The Servant King is Lord
"Tell the daughter of Zion,

Lowly, and sitting on a donkey...'"
Matt. 21:5

Today's Reading: Philippians 2:5-11
The people of Jerusalem rejoiced as Jesus, their Messiah, rode down the hill from the mount of Olives. Little did they know that by Friday many of them would be shouting "Crucify Him, crucify Him!" But Jesus knew. This is why He wept over the city as He drew near. He knew they would crucify Him, and that Jerusalem would be destroyed because of their rejection. (See Luke 19:35-44) Paul speaks so eloquently of the lowliness of Jesus in Philippians: Read More

Why Do the Nations Rage?
Today's Reading: Psalm 2Jesus came humbly in His first Coming as the meek servant King. He was crucified, raised from the dead and God has highly exalted Him over every name. Knowing this we wait with great anticipation for His second Coming in glory to reign in great power as LORD. When He comes we will finally have peace on earth and good will among people... because evil will be destroyed.
This is a comfort to us right now in a world of immense turmoil and corruption. It seems every day evil increases more and more. There are kings, emperors, "presidents", ruling the earth right now and it seems that there is one war after another... one group pitted against another. When will peace finally come? When Jesus comes. For now, the nations rage and people plot

All Things Under His Feet
In the book of Ephesians Paul tells us, that God in His mighty power raised Christ from the dead and
"seated Him at His right hand in heavenly places far above all principality and power and might and dominion
and every name that is named,
not only in this age but in the age to come.
And He put all things under His feet,
and gave Him to be head over all things..."

Peace Through the Blood of His Cross
Today's reading: Colossians 1:12-20, Jesus has authority over all power both on earth over kings and dictators; and in the heavenly places over powerful spirit entities; because He created them. Therefore, as Creator, He is able to complete all that is promised in His word. Furthermore when we are "IN HIM we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins". Ephesians 1:7 Here is how Paul describes this in Colossians:
"He has delivered us from the power of darkness
and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
in whom we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope in our gathering today to find time to share with one another what we are thankful for. Being thankful is not always easy if one is experiencing difficult times. One thing that never changes is the goodness of God though it may be hidden by clouds of our own despair. Even when our lives go through seasons of change, His goodness, love and compassion for His children who trust Him, never changes.

In All Things He May Have Preeminence
As I consider Christ the King, I am amazed by what is revealed in these verses below:
"He is the image of the invisible God
and the first born over all creation.
For by Him all things were created
that are in heaven and that are on the earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.
All things were created through Him and for Him.
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
And He is the head of the body, the church,
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
and in all things He may have the preeminence. "
Colossians 1:15-18 NKJ

King of Kings
As Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, the crowds were cheering and wondering if this was the coming of God's chosen one. In this time of great rejoicing, Messiah finally came in to the city of David, the city of the Great king. He was righteous, and just. In their eyes He was coming to make things right and end the injustice they lived under with the occupation of Rome. But that is not how it was to be. God's chosen One, came in humility. He rode on a little donkey, rather than a majestic horse. He came in peace, not in war. And now as we look ahead to the second coming of our Great King He will come very differently. Read More
